Job Description

Real machine hours on real projects, with the plant hire company working in and around Fourways. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The work is in Fourways, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Backfill and compact around pipes in layers
Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away
Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader
Compact layers with the roller until density tests pass
Dig trenches for pipes and cables to the depth and grade set by the surveyor
Record machine hours and fuel on the daily plant sheet

You'll need

At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites
Medical certificate of fitness for operating mobile plant
Willing to work on projects outside your home town
Good depth perception and no history of machine accidents

Helpful, not essential

GPS machine control experience on excavators or graders
PrDP for tipper or lowbed work

On offer

Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week
Refresher training on new machines
Travel home paid at the end of each site shift cycle
