Roller Operator (Layerworks) – Fixed-Term

You'll move earth, dig trenches and shape roads for the bulk earthworks contractor in Montague Gardens. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Montague Gardens. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Load tipper trucks without spillage or overloading
• Dig trenches for pipes and cables to the depth and grade set by the surveyor
• Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader
• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away
• Do the pre-start checklist on your machine before the first bucket

• Valid Code 10 licence for moving machines on public roads
• At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites
• Good depth perception and no history of machine accidents
• Can read grade pegs and understand cut and fill
• Willing to work on projects outside your home town

• GPS machine control experience on excavators or graders
• Certificates on more than one machine type
• PrDP for tipper or lowbed work

• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites
• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week
• Refresher training on new machines

• List each machine with its size, for example "20-ton excavator, 4 years". Plant managers match you to the machine they need.
• Put your operator certificate numbers on the CV. Site safety files need them before you start.
