Job Description

Behind every truck on the road is a controller; at a road freight company in Somerset West, that could be you. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The work is in Somerset West, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What you'll actually do

Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests

What you need

At least 2 years in transport or logistics
Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
Calm and decisive when things go wrong
Matric
Good with Excel and email
