Job Description

You'll make safety real on the ground at the mineral processing plant near Tzaneen, not just on paper. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is a mineral processing plant on the Tzaneen side of Limpopo.

The work, day to day

  • Lead incident investigations using a root cause method
  • Track safety statistics like LTIFR and report them each month
  • Help run emergency drills and check refuge bays
  • Prepare for inspections by the mine inspector and follow up on instructions
  • Review baseline and issue-based risk assessments with section managers
  • Train safety representatives and support the health and safety committee

You'll need

  • Detailed knowledge of the MHSA and its regulations
  • SAMTRAC or an MQA-accredited mine safety qualification
  • At least 3 years in a safety role at a mine
  • Registered with SAIOSH, or working toward it
  • Confident writing investigation reports and presenting findings
