Job Description

Zero harm needs people who go into the workings. This mineral processing plant near Brakpan needs you. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a mineral processing plant in Brakpan. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Lead incident investigations using a root cause method
Prepare for inspections by the mine inspector and follow up on instructions
Review baseline and issue-based risk assessments with section managers
Help run emergency drills and check refuge bays
Keep legal appointments and code of practice records current

What you need

At least 3 years in a safety role at a mine
Confident writing investigation reports and presenting findings
Detailed knowledge of the MHSA and its regulations
Code 08 licence for moving around the mine property
Registered with SAIOSH, or working toward it

Helpful, not essential

Diploma or degree in Safety Management or Environmental Health
ISO 45001 auditing experience
