Job Description

Every person goes home in one piece. That is the job on this municipal infrastructure project in Kuruman. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Location: Kuruman, Northern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

The work, day to day

Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements

What you need

First Aid Level 1 at least
At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
You write clear reports in English
