Job Description

Harvest time on a commercial seedling nursery near Middelburg (MP) means early mornings, full crates and paid overtime. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a commercial seedling nursery on the Middelburg (MP) side of Mpumalanga.

What your day looks like

Follow the re-entry times after spraying, as the signs show
Fill crates or bins and carry them to the collection point
Weed beds by hand or with a hoe
Plant seedlings in rows at the spacing shown
Prune and thin fruit trees and vines to the farm's method
Pick fruit or vegetables at the right ripeness and size, gently
Tie up tomato and pepper plants in tunnels

Must-haves

Physically fit for bending, lifting and climbing ladders
Valid ID or work permit
Able to work outdoors in heat, cold and rain
Careful with fruit, since bruised fruit is rejected
Follows farm hygiene and safety rules
Available for the full harvest season
