Security Dispatcher (Armed Response)

Sharp eyes and a calm voice are the tools of the trade at a shopping mall security office in Burgersfort. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Burgersfort (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians

• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone

• Speaking more than one local language
• Call centre work in the past

• Shift allowance for nights
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Training on the monitoring software
• Path to senior controller or supervisor

• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
