Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a logistics software company in East London. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a logistics software company on the East London side of Eastern Cape.

The work, day to day

Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab

Must-haves

You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build

Helpful, not essential

Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
Docker and Kubernetes experience
