Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a bank's digital channels team in Soweto. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a bank's digital channels team in Soweto. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Pair with junior developers to unblock them

You'll need

Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Experience writing automated tests
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people

Helpful, not essential

Docker and Kubernetes experience
Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
