Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civil Projects) – Experienced

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in eMalahleni. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is in eMalahleni (Mpumalanga). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings

• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify

• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying

• Study support for an honours degree
• Travel allowance for site visits
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
