Service Technician (Fast-Fit Centre)

You'll service, diagnose and repair cars in a busy fast-fit tyre and service centre in Vanderbijlpark. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a fast-fit tyre and service centre on the Vanderbijlpark side of Gauteng. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign
• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval

• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams

• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
• Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer
• Tool allowance or tool insurance
• Staff discount on parts and services

• Put your trade test date and the car brands you know best at the top of your CV.
• Attach manufacturer training certificates. They can move you up a technician grade and pay band.
