SHEQ Officer (Building Contractor) – Experienced

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this building contractor in Kariega needs someone who can do all three well. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a building contractor on the Kariega side of Eastern Cape. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily

• You write clear reports in English
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• First Aid Level 1 at least

• Diploma in Safety Management
• Fall protection planner training
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects

• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Travel and site allowances
