Shift Supervisor (Guarding Contract) – Fixed-Term

Step up from guarding into supervising on a mining operation in Pretoria East. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Pretoria East, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Investigate incidents and write reports for the client
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches
• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Plan the monthly roster to stay within legal working hours

• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Matric, with a security management course a plus
• PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters

• Labour relations or basic supervision course
• Handgun competency for armed supervisor posts

• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles
• Cellphone allowance

• Mention how you handled absenteeism or roster gaps. It is the biggest daily headache for security companies.
• Say how many officers you supervised and on which sites. The number matters more than the title.
