Shift Supervisor (Guarding Contract)

You'll run a shift of officers at a mining operation in Soweto, keeping posts covered and standards high. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a mining operation on the Soweto side of Gauteng. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Meet the client weekly on security concerns
• Investigate incidents and write reports for the client
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches

• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
• Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites
• Available after hours for emergencies

• Mining or hospital security experience
• Own reliable vehicle

• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles
• Cellphone allowance
• Provident fund and funeral cover

• Mention how you handled absenteeism or roster gaps. It is the biggest daily headache for security companies.
• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
