Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a suburban residential area in Sandton. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Location: Sandton, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What you'll actually do

Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren

You'll need

Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
Calm under pressure and physically fit

Helpful, not essential

Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
