Shift Supervisor (Guarding Contract)

Step up from guarding into supervising on a hospital complex in Vanderbijlpark. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Location: Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Meet the client weekly on security concerns
• Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
• Plan the monthly roster to stay within legal working hours
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches

• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Available after hours for emergencies
• Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites
• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)

• Mining or hospital security experience
• Labour relations or basic supervision course

• Provident fund and funeral cover

• Management training for growth to operations manager

• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
