Job Description

You'll build it with your hands: walls, floors, roofs and finishes on the housing development site in Johannesburg CBD. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a housing development site in Johannesburg CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Fix roof trusses, purlins and brandering for ceilings
Tile floors, showers and splashbacks, including cutting around fittings
Carry bricks and materials to the workface and keep the scaffold clear
Wear your hard hat, boots and harness wherever the foreman says
Build and strip formwork for columns, beams and slabs

You'll need

Willing to move between sites in the same city
Punctual every morning, even in winter
Able to follow a foreman's instructions and read basic measurements
Physically strong enough for a full day of lifting and bending outside
Proven experience in at least one trade, shown by references or a practical test
