Site Agent (Civil Works)

This low-cost housing developer in Vereeniging needs someone who can read the drawings and get a building out of the ground. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Location: Vereeniging, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Run toolbox talks and support the safety officer on Construction Regulations compliance
• Draw up snag lists and close them out before practical completion
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection
• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Order concrete, bricks and steel on time so gangs never stand idle

• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
• At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
