Site Labourer (Concrete Crew) – Entry Level

You'll mix, carry, dig and clean up so the tradespeople on a low-cost housing development in Mbombela can keep building. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The work is in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
• Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
• Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
• Dig trenches and foundations to the depth the foreman marks
• Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed

• Willing to start early, often at 06:30
• A clean record is preferred for some government sites
• Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
• Grade 8 or higher

• Some experience with a jackhammer, grinder or plate compactor
• A working-at-heights or scaffolding ticket

• Learn from artisans with a chance to move up to assistant
• Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days
• Paid weekly or fortnightly
• Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
