Job Description

Every wall and slab on this road rehabilitation project in Mokopane needs labourers, and the crew needs one more. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a road rehabilitation project on the Mokopane side of Limpopo.

What your day looks like

Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day
Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer

What you need

Grade 8 or higher
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
A clean record is preferred for some government sites
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan

Extra points for

Living near the site (many projects hire local labour)
Some experience with a jackhammer, grinder or plate compactor
Registered on your ward or municipal job-seeker database
