Site Manager (Retail Construction)

You'll run the site day to day for the low-cost housing developer in Bethlehem, from setting out to handover. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The site is in Bethlehem; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection
• Draw up snag lists and close them out before practical completion
• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level
• Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent

• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
