Site Manager (Retail Construction)

You'll run the site day to day for the civil engineering contractor in Roodepoort, from setting out to handover. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Draw up snag lists and close them out before practical completion
• Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent
• Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
• Plan the week's work from the construction programme and brief the gangs each morning

• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post
• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act

• Site accommodation on out-of-town projects
• Vehicle allowance or company bakkie
• Project completion bonus linked to handover date

• If you have SACPCMP registration, put the number and category under your name.
