Site Safety Officer (Civil Projects)

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this high-rise residential project in Epping needs someone who can do all three well. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a high-rise residential project on the Epping side of Western Cape. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily

• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• You write clear reports in English

• Fall protection planner training
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects

• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Laptop and data for reporting
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role

• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
