Site Safety Officer (Civil Projects) – Permanent

The building contractor in Pinetown needs a safety officer who is on the site, not stuck in the container office. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Location: Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment

• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification

• Diploma in Safety Management
• Fall protection planner training

• Travel and site allowances
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Laptop and data for reporting

• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
