Site Safety Officer (Civil Projects) – Immediate Start

You'll keep the site legal and the workers safe for the road construction project in Potchefstroom. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Potchefstroom, North West, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file

• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification

• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects
• Fall protection planner training

• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Laptop and data for reporting
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Travel and site allowances

• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
