Site Safety Officer (Civil Projects)

You'll keep the site legal and the workers safe for the high-rise residential project in Pretoria East. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Pretoria East; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor

• You write clear reports in English
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014

• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects
• ISO 45001 internal auditor course
• Diploma in Safety Management

• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Travel and site allowances
• Laptop and data for reporting

• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
