Site Security Officer (Construction Yard) – Fixed-Term

Residents and staff at an office tower in Boksburg need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Location: Boksburg, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)

• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Clean criminal record

• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• Previous experience at a similar site type
• Firefighting or evacuation training

• Provident fund contributions
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Stable long-term site contracts

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
