Site Security Officer (Construction Yard) – Entry Level

The gate at an industrial park in Midrand is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at an industrial park in Midrand. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors

• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Clean criminal record
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred

• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• Firefighting or evacuation training

• Stable long-term site contracts
• Provident fund contributions
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
