Tactical Response Officer (Night Shift) – Experienced

When a panic button goes off in a business park in Mamelodi, you are the one who arrives first. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Mamelodi (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details

• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• At least 2 years in guarding or response

• Advanced driving course
• First-aid Level 2 or 3
• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors

• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Response vehicle and firearm provided

• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
