Site Security Officer (Construction Yard)

Steady 12-hour shifts at a construction yard in Mthatha for PSIRA-registered officers. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a construction yard in Mthatha. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors

• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Clean criminal record

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
