Skills Development Facilitator (Learnerships)

Here your industry experience becomes lessons for the next group of learners, at a public TVET college in Mamelodi. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

The work is in Mamelodi, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
• Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system
• Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
• Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme

• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
• Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts
• Good report writing and record keeping
• Own transport for training at client sites

• Teaching qualification or Higher Certificate in adult education
• Experience with QCTO occupational qualifications
• Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle

• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Travel allowance or company car for site training
• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
