Software Engineer (Insurance Core Systems) – Permanent

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a bank's digital channels team in Centurion. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Centurion. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
• Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
• Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
• Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
• Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
• Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning

• Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
• Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
• You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
• Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
• Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
• A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
