Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for an e-commerce platform in Randburg. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at an e-commerce platform in Randburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language

You'll need

Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Experience writing automated tests
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build

Extra points for

Public GitHub portfolio or published app
Docker and Kubernetes experience
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
