Job Description

A fintech start-up in Rosslyn needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The work is in Rosslyn, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language

You'll need

Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Experience writing automated tests
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

Nice if you have

Public GitHub portfolio or published app
Docker and Kubernetes experience
