Spray Painter (Waterborne Systems)

This fleet repair centre in Epping needs body repair skills that pass the insurer's quality check. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at a fleet repair centre. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Photograph repair stages for the insurance assessor
• Repair dents with hammers, dollies and a stud welder
• Mix paint colours with a spectrophotometer and the mixing scheme
• Strip damaged panels, bumpers and trims and bag the fixings
• Fit new panels using spot welding and bonding methods
• Spray base coat and 2K clear coat in the booth
• Apply filler, sand and prime to a smooth, ready surface

• Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work
• Knowledge of spray booth safety and respirator use
• Able to work to insurer repair times and quality standards
• Physically able to stand, bend and kneel for long periods
• Good colour vision and a steady hand

• ADAS camera and sensor recalibration after repairs
• Aluminium and high-strength steel repair training
