Spray Painter (Waterborne Systems) – Fixed-Term

Got an eye for a smooth finish? The truck body repair workshop in Mbombela wants your skills in the booth or on the jig. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The site is in Mbombela; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Fit new panels using spot welding and bonding methods
• Pull and straighten chassis damage on a measuring jig
• Spray base coat and 2K clear coat in the booth
• Mask up vehicles properly to keep overspray off glass and trim
• Apply filler, sand and prime to a smooth, ready surface

• Knowledge of spray booth safety and respirator use
• Physically able to stand, bend and kneel for long periods
• Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work
• Experience with modern waterborne or high-solids paint systems
• A portfolio or references from previous body shops
• Able to work to insurer repair times and quality standards
