Staff Nurse (Night Shift) – Experienced

A home-based care agency in East London needs someone kind and reliable to look after patients who can't manage alone. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a home-based care agency in East London. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Hand out oral medication under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Take and chart temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood glucose
• Keep families updated on routine matters and pass clinical questions to the sister
• Help patients walk, transfer from bed to chair and do their exercises
• Spot confusion, falls risk or changes in mood and tell the nurse in charge
• Turn bed-bound patients on schedule and check pressure areas for early sores
• Keep the fluid and food intake charts accurate for every patient

• At least 1 year of hands-on patient care
• Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• Accredited home-based care or ancillary health care certificate for caregiver posts
• First aid Level 1 or BLS certificate
• Physically strong enough to lift and move patients safely
• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends

• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Uniform supplied
• Transport home after late shifts at some facilities

• If you're a caregiver, attach the certificate from the training provider, not just a letter saying you attended.
