Staff Nurse (Night Shift)

Your care keeps residents at a physical rehabilitation hospital in Ermelo safe, clean and comfortable through the day. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Ermelo-based, with most of your time spent at a physical rehabilitation hospital. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Spot confusion, falls risk or changes in mood and tell the nurse in charge
• Make beds, change linen and keep the rooms clean and uncluttered
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity
• Turn bed-bound patients on schedule and check pressure areas for early sores
• Hand out oral medication under the supervision of a registered nurse

• Patient and gentle with elderly, frail or confused people
• Accredited home-based care or ancillary health care certificate for caregiver posts
• Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends
• At least 1 year of hands-on patient care

• A second South African language spoken by the patients you'll serve
• Dementia care or palliative care short course

• Paid training in dementia and end-of-life care
• Uniform supplied
• Meals provided on shift at many frail care centres
• Overtime paid at time and a half
