Job Description

Good, straight work gets noticed on this school construction project in Sasolburg, and so does turning up every day. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a school construction project on the Sasolburg side of Free State.

What you'll actually do

Clean your tools and sweep your work area before knocking off
Plaster walls and float them to a smooth, even finish
Carry bricks and materials to the workface and keep the scaffold clear
Build and strip formwork for columns, beams and slabs
Lay face brick and plaster brick to line, level and plumb

You'll need

Punctual every morning, even in winter
Physically strong enough for a full day of lifting and bending outside
Understands basic site safety like scaffolds and open trenches
Willing to move between sites in the same city
Safety boots of your own for the first week, if possible
Proven experience in at least one trade, shown by references or a practical test

Helpful, not essential

Experience on NHBRC-registered housing projects
CETA or NQF 2 or 3 certificate in your trade

On offer

Weekly or fortnightly pay, always on time
UIF and COIDA registration from day one
Transport from a pick-up point to site
