Stock Packer (Distribution Centre) – Immediate Start

This is steady, physical warehouse work at an online grocery fulfilment hub in Epping, and nobody minds if it's your first job. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The site is in Epping; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking

• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• You can read product codes and count accurately
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season

• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse
• Basic computer skills for capturing counts
• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate

• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season

• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
