Store Detective (Retail Loss Prevention)

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a fashion retail store in Krugersdorp before they cost jobs. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

The work is in Krugersdorp, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
• Share trends with the store manager each week
• Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
• Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft
• Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
• Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
• Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers

• Discreet, observant and honest
• Available for retail hours including month-end weekends
• Able to handle confrontation calmly
• Good report writing
• Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
• Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act

• Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
• Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports

• Show you know the legal limits of search and arrest. A single unlawful arrest can cost a store badly, so they will ask about it.
