Job Description

You'll design and supervise infrastructure people use every day, with the municipal infrastructure department in Epping. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The work is in Epping, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What your day looks like

Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
Chair site meetings and handle contractor queries
Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
Write design reports and handover documents
Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures

You'll need

Good grasp of South African design codes for your field
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering

Extra points for

Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
Registration with SAICE and active CPD
