Structural Engineer (Buildings)

This civil engineering consultancy in Gqeberha needs someone who can check a design and then go and check it was built right. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Gqeberha; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals
• Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
• Act as resident engineer: inspect works, measure quantities and certify payments
• Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
• Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts

• BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
• Good grasp of South African design codes for your field
• At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
• Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
