Job Description

You'll design and supervise infrastructure people use every day, with the bulk water utility in Montague Gardens. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The site is in Montague Gardens; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

The work, day to day

Chair site meetings and handle contractor queries
Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures
Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162
Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue

What you need

Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
At least 3 years in design or construction supervision

Extra points for

Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
Contract management training for NEC or GCC
Registration with SAICE and active CPD
