Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a business park in Epping. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is in Epping (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details

Must-haves

Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Calm under pressure and physically fit
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course

Helpful, not essential

Advanced driving course
SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
First-aid Level 2 or 3
