Tactical Response Officer (Night Shift)

When a panic button goes off in a mixed-use neighbourhood in Klerksdorp, you are the one who arrives first. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a mixed-use neighbourhood in Klerksdorp. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren

• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Calm under pressure and physically fit

• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• Advanced driving course
• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background

• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Danger and night allowances
• Regular refresher shooting practice

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
