Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a mixed-use neighbourhood in Mbombela. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a mixed-use neighbourhood on the Mbombela side of Mpumalanga. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What your day looks like

Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses

What you need

PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
At least 2 years in guarding or response
Calm under pressure and physically fit

Helpful, not essential

SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
