Job Description

Clients sleep better when their tax is sorted, and a financial planning practice in East London needs you to sort it. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is East London-based, with most of your time spent at a financial planning practice.

What you'll actually do

Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients

Must-haves

Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
Comfortable handling tax season overtime
At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax

Helpful, not essential

Postgraduate diploma in tax
Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax
Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
