Job Description

A financial planning practice in Mokopane needs a tax practitioner who knows eFiling inside out. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a financial planning practice on the Mokopane side of Limpopo. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What your day looks like

Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs
Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time

Must-haves

At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
Comfortable handling tax season overtime

Extra points for

Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients
Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax
Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
